You may qualify for Alaska Housing Rent Relief if you rent your home and meet certain income criteria, live in an overcrowded or unsafe rental household – such as risk of domestic violence – or COVID has reduced your income. The application process is easy, safe and confidential.
We invite tribal citizen renters experiencing financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic to sign up now to receive information about our future rent relief. An eligibility checker will be available on, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, and applications will be accepted from September 13 – October 1, 2021, at: AlaskaHousingRelief.org.
Who can get help?
The best way to find out if you qualify is to use our online eligibility checker at AlaskaHousingRelief.org. This program may be able to help pay your bills if you meet certain income criteria and if any of the following describes you:
- You are struggling to pay your rent and/or utilities.
- Your housing situation is at risk (for example, you owe past rent or are worried about eviction).
- You are living in an overcrowded or unsafe situation (such as risk of domestic violence).
- You are or have been unemployed — or are otherwise struggling to keep up financially.
Tribal Citizen Households Only:
THRHA is coordinating our tribal relief funds with Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) to provide a single application portal for our Tribal Citizens, and we thank our partner Tribes for coming together so our tribal citizens have access to the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP):
